Puppy Chow Recipe

My family has been making puppy chow, or muddy buddies, ever since I can remember. My grandmother would make Christmas boxes filled with goodies, tins filled with snickerdoodles, Mexican wedding cookies, Chex mix and puppy chow. It was so exciting getting the box in the mail every year as we lived a few states away from my grandparents, and it was a treat to eat my grandmother's homemade confections. Puppy chow is the one thing I make that I feel I have mastered so I wanted to share the recipe, straight from the Wilhite's cookbook.
