The main cast of Warden's Reign has agreed to sit down with me and conduct a series of interviews. Today I had the pleasure of sitting down with Felix, and this is how it went:
(SPOILER ALERT!!! This interview was conducted after the events of the first book, Warden's Reign. If you have not yet read the first part of Kole's journey, comeback after doing so.)
What is your full name? Do you have a nickname?
The name’s Felix Hallas. Don’t use my last name since I got inta the Liberation. Gotta keep that low profile, ya know?
When and where were you born?
Born and raised here in Socren. I’m fifteen.
Where do you live now? And with whom?
Down in the old mines in the Liberation hideout. Usually we keep that a secret, but after the rebellion, I don’t think we’ll have ta much longer. ’Sides, I doubt you’d be able ta find it through the Web anyway. All the Liberation members live down there. My sister, the twins, Leo, Thomas, Piper… well, I guess not anymore. I’m sure you’ve heard about that.
What is your occupation?
Ha! Occupation? Ya make it sound like I’m some business owner. Nah, I’m a member of the Liberation. We don’t get paid for what we do, just clothed and fed. Leo keeps us right.
What is your favorite food?
Oh, now we’re talkin’. They make these sweet pastries once a year in the city during the spring festival. Flakey, buttery dough drizzled in honey. It’s the gold of food. I steal ’em by the armful. Maybe don’t tell anyone that last part.
Have you ever been in love?
Pfft. No way. Next question.
What are your pet peeves?
Can a pet peeve be a whole person? ’Cause that’d be Thomas. That guy thinks he’s just so good at everythin’. Let me point out that I could’ve gotten that intel on Russé being in the prison, too. I had Kole with me. A new guy in a new place made it all the sneakin’ around more difficult, is all. I just—could’ve done it, all I’m sayin’. You can keep that in.
Where do you see yourself in five years?
By Leo’s side, makin’ sure Socren is runnin’ smooth and all. He’ll have me as his right hand, you watch.
Do you care what others think of you?
No. Why should I? …Well, maybe just Vienna. And I don’t like it when people think all I’m good for is stealin’. Ain’t true.
Do you like to read?
Only useful stuff. None of the history books Leo makes us brush up on.
Who would win in a fight, Friz or Boogey?
Now yer talkin’. It’s a pretty even match. I’d put money on whoever had a bigger breakfast that day.
How are you feeling after rebellion?
Finally got our city back from those Kayetans, and we had Savairo running outta here like a toddler. It’s a good day. Guess now we get ta relax and rebuild my home. Things’ll be great.
